Ayurvedic Medicine, Theory and Practice with Eliza Kerr and Prashanti de Jager
This is a three part workshop exploring the theory and practice of Ayurvedic medicine (literally, "the science or knowledge of life"). Ayurvedic medicine is a holistic health system, which works with balancing the elements of body, mind, and spirit through a wide variety of practices. The workshop is presented as a series, but each component can stand alone. You are invited to attend one, two or all sessions.

A Holistic Introduction to Ayurvedic Medicine
February 4th
This experiential class presents an overview of Ayurvedic philosophy, including the five elements and the three doshas. This class also explores the concept of treatment through the five senses, Participants will also conclude by determining their personal Ayurvedic constitution as the foundation for their future practice.
Practices and Applications of Ayurvedic Medicine
February 9th
This highly hands-on session focuses on exploring the daily practices and routines of Ayurvedic medicine. This will include an introduction to the three gunas, dosha-based yoga, neti pot use, pranayama techniques, abhyanga (self oil massage), and mindful eating
Herbs, Ayurveda, and Sustainability (with Prashanti de Jager)
February 23rd
This class provides a simple model that can be used to increase personal and global sustainability through the study and practice of yoga and Ayurvedic medicine. Using eight elements or facets that describe fundamental underlying mechanics of our Universe and as gathered from the yoga, Ayurveda, and Puranic Traditions, we will weave together a solid path toward producing the sustainability of personal and global sustainability.

The workshops are located in the banquet room of the River Restaurant & Lounge at the Yosemite View Lodge, 11136 Highway 140, El Portal, CA. Driving time from the Bay Area is 3.5-4 hours.
