Balanced Rock Rustic Retreat
You don't have to sleep on the ground to join a Balanced Rock course in Yosemite. Our rustic retreats offer a cozy alternative to camping in an ideal setting-away from the hustle and bustle of Yosemite Valley, but still close enough to enjoy the sites. Based at Yosemite Institute's Crane Flat campus, 6,200 ft. above sea level, the rustic retreats are set among meadows and a giant sequoia grove-perfect for slowing down and relaxing.
Intentionally simple and communal, the rustic retreats allow us to unplug from our busy lives and connect with ourselves and each other. Our rooms are shared cabins, heated by wood stoves, but we're not completely roughing it-the bath house includes flush toilets and hot showers. Our gourmet meals are prepared on-site in the full kitchen and served in a dining hall. The simplicity of our accommodations allows for the expansion of our thoughts and energies into the exploration of the wilderness.
