Our Immersion in 2020 is a celebration of 20 Years with Balanced Rock! Our Co-Founders Eliza Kerr and Heather Sullivan are teaming up for this 5-day Yoga Immersion that will offer daily asana, meditation, pranayama, philosophy and more in some of the most iconic locations in Yosemite. We will deepen our relationship with the Five Elements as expressed through our yoga practice, in our bodies, and by the planet that sustains us.

7:30 Breakfast on your own
8:30 Depart for field trip and hike to outdoor studio
9:30 Yoga Asana (physical practice)
12:00 Lunch (please pack a lunch for each day)
1:00 Anatomy and Physiology OR Yoga Philosophy
2:00 Yoga Asana (physical practice)
3:30 Questions, Discussion, Review and/or Journaling

Everyone is welcome!

This Immersion is perfect for those wanting to deepen their personal yoga study, continue their education as a yoga instructor, or seek a new perspective on yoga from the natural world. 

Participants are welcome to attend this program as a retreat to deepen their personal practice or attend as continuing education for 40 hours with Yoga Alliance.

Our faculty may be joined by special guests to enhance this unique and powerful training. The course will be authentic and tempered to the needs of the students. Class sizes will be small with abundant instructor attention available for each student. Participants will leave the WildYoga Immersion with a strong take-home asana practice, meditation and pranayama techniques, an understanding of the major philosophies of yoga and a solid, fun-loving yoga kula (community).

Payment & Pre-requisites

Tuition assistance is available. Payment plans are available for a small additional administrative fee. Please email info@balancedrock.org or call (209) 379-9453 if you would like to arrange a payment plan.

Space is limited. Advance course registration required. Full payment or an initial deposit of $350 will reserve your spot. Full payment is due before the course begins unless otherwise negotiated.  Please review our cancellation and payment policy.

Food and accommodation are not included in the course tuition. Students are responsible for making their own arrangements.

Excellent instruction from experienced certified trainers, an instruction manual, continuing education credits with Yoga Alliance, and the opportunity to spend time in stunning locations with wonderful company.

What’s Not Included

Transportation to and from your hometown to Yosemite, park entrance fees, accommodations, food, required reading, and personal items.

Meet Your Instructors

Eliza Kerr, CAS is passionate about supporting people on their journey towards well-being by sharing the tools of yoga and Ayurveda in the natural world. Co-founder of Balanced Rock, Eliza has been teaching yoga in Yosemite for 20 years, and practicing as a certified Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist (CAS) for 13 years. She has studied a variety of styles including Iyengar, Bikram, and Ashtanga.

Heather Sullivan, RYT 500. Yosemite’s steep granite walls, seasonal changing river song and community of animals and humans have shaped Heather’s being, world-view, and are fundamental blocks of her yoga and teaching practice. Her adventurous spirit and classes inspire inward and outward exploration. She’s Co-Founder, Managing Director, and lead Wilderness Guide for Balanced Rock.
