Outside Mariposa Youth Leadership Program
Date: April 14, 2018
Location: Yosemite National Park
Type of Program:

The Outside Mariposa Youth Leadership Program is a grant-funded, scholarship-based program for Mariposa County youth ages 13-18. A series of empowering adventures culminate in a 4-day backpacking expedition in Yosemite National Park that can be life changing.

On this course, youth build confidence and leadership skills through completing outdoor challenges such as backpacking and sleeping outside, perhaps for the first time. Youth will also learn about practices for healthy living and tools to support your personal goals. We will concentrate on stewardship & environmental justice concepts while appreciating the beauty of Yosemite National Park. Currently in its ninth year, this program is offered in partnership with the Alliance for Community Transformations, Mountain Crisis Services, Ethos Youth Center, Sierra Foothill Conservancy, and the National Park Service.

For more information, or to register for this course call us at 379-9453, or email heather@balancedrock.org.

We will be utilizing the YARTS bus, or carpooling with vans provided by CASA for transportation to and from the park.
