This March represents, for many, the one-year anniversary of COVID-19 shutdowns, the pandemic panic, and a drastic shift in how we live our lives and operate in the world. Since 2000, one of the core tenets of Balanced Rock’s curriculum has been to employ creative writing as a practice that promotes both healing and mindfulness. The unprecedented nature of this past year offers fertile ground to sow the seeds of vibrant stories. Let’s gather together with the potent energy of the spring to share and create.

Meet Your Facilitator

Heather has been offering online private and small group writing circles throughout 2020 (visit to learn more) to help process the uncertainty and stress of this global pandemic. These online writing groups have offered participants a sense of community and an outlet to share and chronicle how the pandemic is effecting each of us individually and collectively.

“These weekly writing groups have been so useful during the pandemic. It is great to hear how each of us are experiencing, adapting, and being effected by Covid-19. It is also really nice to feel a sense of community, laugh with one another, and share stories.”—2020 writing circle participant
