Nourish & Align with Ayurvedic 5-Sense Therapies

Saturday, November 2 • 2:00pm - 3:15pm

Ayurveda (the knowledge of life) is a profound wisdom tradition originating in South Asia, and an essential companion to Yogic practice with growing relevance in our modern lives.

Janaki will guide us to explore the 5-senses more deeply from an Ayurvedic framework. There will be meditation, reflection, and experiential activities with herbs, memory, and energy. Bring your open mind and heart to gather more inspiration and tools for health and wellbeing!

What Participants Should Bring to the Workshop

  • A yoga mat

  • A pen/pencil and a journal/notebook

  • A refillable water bottle

JANAKI PATEL

Janaki's namesake, from the ancient legend the Ramayana, was born from the Earth. It follows that her life’s work is to be with the spirit of the land and Cosmos, while inspiring and guiding this connection in others on their journeys.

A crisis of health catalyzed her own path into Ayurveda and Yoga. Lessons from this, integrated with her training and studies with teachers in diverse lineages from India and the Americas, form the basis of her embodied practice. As an Ayurvedic Health Advisor and Ayurvedic cook, she enjoys guiding and supporting others to come back to balance with this ancient wisdom.

Janaki has also worked in multiple bioregions as a garden-based youth educator, organic farmer with vegetables, medicinal herbs, and dairy cows, and she was an educator and guide in Yosemite National Park for many years. She also creates through traditional claywork, textile arts, and music. Janaki is grateful to all of her teachers, the ancestors, and to the Divine within and without.
